This
was the first main show for X2C. With
a 8 car stand outside and 2 cars on
the Best of Britain we could tell
it was going to be a good weekend.
We met at Thurrock Services on Friday
afternoon and convoyed up North to
Doncaster. After a slight detour around
Cambridge, hitting every kind of weather
possible, 2 or 3 pit stops and 250
miles of driving we arrived at the
Hotel ready for the weekend to begin.
Saturday
morning came and we headed up to the
racecourse nice and early and got
the cars on the stand. After a few
hours of cleaning in the freezing
cold, we decided to go and join Marky
( 206 ) and Taz ( Scooby ) inside
on the Best of Britain. The day turned
out to be a good one with some of
the best motors around. There were
lots of activites to take part in
or view from the sidelines. Overall
it was a good day.
Sunday
proved to be the best day of the show,
with better weather and more people.
There was a lot of interest shown
towards X2C and lots of flyers were
dished out. We managed to get around
all the stands and see all the cars
and what a turn out it was.
The
awards were given in the afternoon
/ evening. Andy Flamera won Best Car
in Britain, Best Presented Car as
well as Best Engine Bay. The car was
in superb condition as he showed off
his new paintjob and interior on the
Autogleam stand. Overall the show
was a great success and was enjoyed
by all of the X2C Crew that went.
We set out home in the afternoon and
made it back to Croydon on Sunday
evening.
I
would like to thank everyone that
came from X2C and all those that showed
their support over the weekend. I
would also like to thank Kevin for
leading the Convoy up there.
