Xquisite Automotive
:::... |

The Dictionary defines Exquisite
as something of special beauty,
something of rare and appealing
excellence. The workmanship that
K and the team at Xquisite have
continually produced over the
past years has lived up to the
expectation of their name.
|
Back in 2001 a Vauxhall Nova
squatting on 19" rims graces
the front cover of Fast Car, the
first of its kind and something
that breaks the mould of what
"cant be done". Built
by a young man from Surrey known
as "K", this would be
the turning point in what has
created the foundations for the
UK's most innovative bodyshop.
A year later K set up Type K
Styling. 2 years on and with 4
more cover cars under their name,
Type K had exceeded and outgrown
its small work shop in Chertsey.
With a move to larger premesis
came a definitive name change,
and Xquisite Automotive was born.
|
In 2005 with a packed out Max
Power Show, Xquisite revealed
their first company project car.
A red and white M3 on 22”
alloys, perfectly crafted shell
and a full custom interior trimmed
in the finest leather. The car
was a huge success and achieved
6 covers worldwide.
|
Today, Xquisite is continuing
to create the unimaginable. With
over 30 cover cars they continue
to impress each time the huge
yellow shutters of the workshop
open and a new car rolls out.
The state of the art workshop
is equipped to the max, but none
of this would be possibly without
the brains of K and his staff.
James, the workshop manager is
something of a master with fabrication
work, he can do things to metal
that would make a porn star blush.
Next is Willis, the web designer
and prepper, check out the website
to see how skilled he is. Louis,
one of the panel beaters pulls
out some quality work and has
been a member of the Xquisite
crew for a number of years. Finally
Scott, the newest member, and
Xquisite’s prepper, painter
and airbrusher.

We caught up with K and asked
him what he is most proud of.
He answered “In a professional
manner, I am most proud of the
growth of my business. Over the
years it has grown from a very
small 2 man workshop to a 4,500
sq ft state of the art workshop
with 5 of the best staff. And
personally, I am most proud of
proving people wrong and creating
the “impossible”.
Too many times I hear people say
that 22”s will not fit on
a BMW compact or 20”s will
not fit on a 206, or you cannot
make a door slide out horizontally.
Well we have created cars with
these exact modifications and
more, to the standard that they
could well have come out of a
factory.”
|
So what
can we expect to see from Xquisite.
After winning 2 awards at the
recent Mod Gods event at Donny
( best Toyota and a top 20 ),
I imagine next year will bring
us many more diverse creations
that will surely stun many people.
