...::: Tony's Peugeot 206cc :::...

Having been building modified cars for longer than most of us have been alive has given 50 year old Tony Scullion a real edge with his car. He has put years of experience into building the ultimate show stopping car and succeeded.

Tony has owned the 206cc since brand new and it has seen many reincarnations but is now as complete as possible. Working as a warehouse controller for one of Europe’s largest printer ink suppliers gave Tony the perfect place to build the car; yes this has been built by his own hands!

Whilst most people would take a car like this to the local body shop, Tony has built this with the help of a few select friends. Every panel on the exterior has been modified and even the wide arch kit has been completely changed. Having spent many hours on the build the quality really has to be seen to be believed, the front wings have been smoothed behind the doors so when they are completely open you cannot see into the wheel arch. All of the inner arches have been sprayed black to avoid stone chips showing. Two of the major modifications are the bonnet and boot. The bonnet has been given a custom bad boy bonnet and a cut out of X2C-UK!! The boot is a first for the UK, having had all ridges cut out and all the lines have been completely changed giving an extremely smooth rear end.

Not wanting to leave the interior out, Tony made sure that this would also be something special. As the car is still driven to all shows and cruises, it is obvious why the ever popular carbon backed Cobra Misano seats have been pick. The dash board has been smoothed out with tweeters and dials smoothed into their positions. The custom Esquiss door cards have been made to house Kenwood components and television screens to keep up with the three 12in Audiobahn sub’s built into the custom enclosure where the rear seats used to be.

Tony may be of the older generation, but made sure that the car would go as well as it looks. Having spoken to Pug Performance Tony was to order a beast of an engine, a 2.2 out of a 406 coupe and then fitted with Longman Throttle bodies to provide in excess of 230bhp. The engine is covered in Carbon Fibre including the carbon Strut brace to maximize handling with the coilovers that have been fitted.

Not content with the attention he was getting, on top of the custom pearlescent paint Tony decided to do a very brave thing and get the car airbrushed. This is a very rare scene in the UK especially with ‘mainstream’ cars but this was not going to stop Tony. Having looked around Tony found an airbrush artist that goes by the name of Kaos uk who has worked for the McClaren F1 Race Team among others. The bonnet, doors and rear quarters have all been airbrushed with a variety of robotic designs and the smoothed boot was the perfect place for something that really would stand out. Tony has had his head airbrushed onto the boot! The interior has also been airbrushed including the dash board, door cards, top of the subwoofers and the floor mats!

We are told that the car will stay pretty much similar now although there might be one or two more things to receive the airbrush treatment. Having won 9 trophies in the 2007 season and 2 under his belt in 2008, we would like to wish Tony the very best of luck in beating the number he won last year.
